When you live in Utah there are so many amazing things to do all the time. Like a weekend getaway or going out for a great meal. Though one of our favorite things to do on a lovely day is head to one of our favorite bookstores. There are plenty of great options that you don’t want to miss out on.

1) Marissa’s Bookstore
A former tire shop in Millcreek is now home to Marissa’s Bookstore. Where you can find a wide selection of books for all ages, with thousands of books to choose from. And not only will you be able to get a great book when you visit, you’ll also be helping the community. Marissa’s is helping re-invest in the community by providing Classroom Grants and other literary programs.
2) Lovebound Library
Located in the Maven District in Salt Lake City, Lovebound Library is the perfect stop for those looking for a great romance. This woman owned business offers a wide selection of books, gifts, and bookish merch perfect for the romance lover. This judgement free zone is a perfect place to get your next fun summer read.
3) The King’s English Bookshop
The King’s English Bookshop is a quaint shop in Sugarhouse, Utah. The independently owned bookstore has so many great things to offer from a wide variety of indie authors to an extraordinary children’s section. If you’re looking for a gift for a friend, or even one for yourself, then you’ll need to look no further than here.
4) Under the Umbrella Bookstore
Under the Umbrella Bookstore is sharing and celebrating queer books written by queer authors. While also offering a safe, sober, and accessible space for gathering. Located in downtown Salt Lake City, this is a great place to stop in and browse the selection of amazing books. Be sure to check out their staff picks online for some really amazing recommendations.
5) The Printed Garden
This brick-and-mortar bookstore located in Sandy’s Historic Union Square shopping plaza is the perfect place to spend an afternoon. The Printed Garden is independently owned by people who have been over 25 years of work in the book industry. Meaning you’re going to find a great selection of books. And when you stop by grab one of the complimentary cups of coffee (or tea).
